I have knowledge in the others but those are not as popular of styles.

The third way is to know and study the different types of essays and how they are written. For example, a persuasive essay is written differently than an argumentative essay.

The fourth way is also to know how to edit and rewrite your own work. When you are writing a paper it is best to write a rough draft, and then edit that draft to form the final paper. Writing one draft should not be the final paper. You should maybe write at least 2 rough drafts, edit and then write the final paper. Try and plan your outline so you can do this step.

The fifth way to become a better academic writer is to be able to communicate effectively with clients. Writing skills and communication skills go hand in hand. You want to be looked upon as an expert in your writing. It will be important to not only know how to communicate effectively, but also be professional in what you communicate. You want to please all of your clients.

The sixth way is to read lots of grammar books. This is important because good grammar is imperative in any kind of writing. It can be terribly distracting when you are trying to read something someone wrote, and their grammar is so bad, you stop reading in the beginning of the essay. Bad grammar can also make you lose a client. That is why it is important to always read what you have written before submitting to your client.
